So I’m breaking down my favorite spots to help you choose the perfect location for your session ✨

1. South Beach (most popular)

South Beach is by far the most well-known beach in the area, and for good reason. This is where you’ll find the iconic South Haven Lighthouse.

Why I love it for photos:

• The lighthouse adds that classic Lake Michigan look
• Gorgeous sunsets right over the water
• Wide open beach space

Things to keep in mind:

• It can get BUSY in the summer
• Parking can take a little extra time
• We may walk a bit to find a quieter area

Perfect for families who want that quintessential beach photo vibe

2. North Beach (usually quieter, more relaxed)

If you’re looking for something a little more low-key,
North Beach is SUCH a good option.

It’s just north of South Beach but tends to be:

• Less crowded
• A little more laid-back
• Easier for families with young kids

Why it’s great for photos:

• More space to let kids run freely
• Softer, natural backgrounds
• Often quieter during sunset

Perfect if you want a more relaxed, less crowded session

3. Van Buren State Park (my personal favorite for variety)

Van Buren State Park is SUCH a hidden gem for photos.

It’s a little outside of downtown South Haven, but 100% worth it.

Why I love it:

• Beautiful sand dunes + tall grass
• More natural, untouched feel
• Less crowded than main beaches

Honestly, you can’t go wrong — it just depends on the vibe you want:

• Want iconic + classic? → South Beach
• Want relaxed + less crowded? → North Beach
• Want dreamy + natural? → Van Buren State Park
