New Buffalo Family Photography | Greer Family | Michigan Photographer

In summer of 2025, I had such a wonderful family photography session with the Greer family in New Buffalo, Michigan.

This was one of my absolute favorite sessions from last summer. New Buffalo family photography is my favorite!

This photo session just goes to show that it doesn’t matter if you have wild toddlers. Book your family photo session anyway! I promise, I got you! (Plus, it’s a great excuse to visit New Buffalo!)

During family photos at New Buffalo Beach, I always make sure to offer some fun photos of the kiddos playing in Lake Michigan. This gives the opportunity for the kids to have fun and for me to capture their true personalities. I love it so much!

This family photo session in New Buffalo, Michigan was clearly taken at sunset time. I always tell everyone and highly recommend booking your photos at sunset, ESPECIALLY if they’re on the beach. Like this session was. However, I understand that sometimes this really isn’t ideal for smaller kiddos who have early bedtimes. They may not be feeling photo ready at 8pm haha. I get it! However, if there is ANY way to stretch their last nap of the day, or keep them up late for just one evening, I promise that golden sunset is worth it.

Now, if your little one is not the type to last past 6pm… then we will sacrifice the sunset so we don’t have a crabby baby! We want kids happy during the photos as well 🙂

As always, I make sure Mom & Dad have their own photo moment without the kids. Here, they were clearly wet from the lake. However, I LOVE these sweet photos! New Buffalo, Michigan Beach ALWAYS has a clear shot of the moon, which I love during my photography sessions here.
