Kayden celebrated his first birthday with a super fun milestone photography session in the South Bend studio. With every cake smash, we don’t have to jump right into the cake! In fact, it is fun to do a few one or two different outfits beforehand. Maybe even some family and sibling photos, if desired, as well.

Starting with some fun shots! Big bro, Rayden, jumped right in to be the star first! hahaha

I love utilizing props during milestone photoshoots. Making it more fun and interactive for children. Shoutout to Photography by Molly LLC (aka one of my favorite people ever) for always letting me borrow her props. In this session, we obvs loved the rocking horse. 🙂

In my opinion..some family photos are always a must during a milestone photography session. Yes, these sessions are about your baby. BUT they document a special time in YOUR life as parents, siblings, and a family as well. You’re celebrating another year of parenting, growth, love. Get in those photos, too!!

AAAAND – the smash cake portion of our milestone photography session. THE BEST PART of course! During cake smash photo sessions, I always just let the babies go wild! Some dive right in, some take their time, some just sit there and are very confused as to why mom and dad are allowing them to eat cake off the floor. Regardless of what your child does, these photos are ALWAYS cute!

Cake smash and milestone photography sessions are a must as your baby grows (even if you can’t afford a photographer – that’s ok! Set up your own thing and take them on your phone). You’ll never get this time back so document it all while you can 🙂
